Due to its fluidity, mercury maintains lubricated contact with the slip ring assembly during rotation. • The up arrow should not point below the horizontal
• Do not solder to or bend connector tabs
• Avoid lateral forces and mechanical loads (overly stiff or tight wires)
• Do not rigidly mount both ends of the connector
• Limit mounting eccentricity (runout/wobble) to .005" (.13mm)

  • Q: So, how do you transport the goods?
     
    We ship our slip rings globally via air freight (Door-to-Door Delivery). The estimated transit time is 3-5 working days (varies by destination).
  • Q: What is your warranty policy?
     
    All slip rings come with a 3-month free replacement warranty (covers manufacturing defects, excluding misuse damage).
  • Q: Will the mercury leak during the use of the mercury slip ring?
     
    You can rest assured that the mercury inside our slip ring will not leak under normal use. They also adopt a multi-seal structure design and pass the pressure test as well as the running test. Leakage may only occur when the slip ring is severely worn, damaged or aged.
  • Q: What is the advantage of the conductivity of mercury slip rings compared with traditional copper slip rings?
     
    Compared with copper, mercury is more commonly used in slip rings for precision instruments. Because of its liquid properties, it can adapt to slip rings of different sizes. In addition, mercury has a very low resistivity of about 0.94×10⁻⁶Ω・m (at 20℃), which allows it to reduce contact resistance when forming a conductive path. In contrast, the resistivity of copper is about 1.72×10⁻⁸Ω・m (at 20℃).
  • Q: How to identify the quality of mercury slip rings?
     
    There are different quality grades of mercury slip rings on the market. High-quality mercury slip rings generally use better materials, have higher conductivity, sealing and service life. You can choose a good quality slip ring from the following aspects: check the manufacturer's qualifications, check the appearance of the slip ring, understand its technical parameters, whether it is compatible with the equipment, etc.
  • Q: Can they be used in extreme temperature environments?
     
    The suitable operating temperature range of mercury slip rings is between -10℃ and 60℃, and it is best not to use them in extreme temperatures. When it is close to -10℃, the fluidity of mercury decreases, resulting in a slight increase in contact resistance. When the temperature exceeds 60℃, mercury may evaporate more rapidly, causing internal pressure changes and interfering with the conductive path.
  • Q: How to troubleshoot electrical signal interruptions in a Mercury Slip Ring?
     
    Check for loose connections, damaged conductors, or contaminated contacts. Using test equipment like multimeters can help identify the problem. For instance, measuring the resistance across the contacts can indicate if there is a faulty connection.
